My son Max is turning 7 months old tomorrow - he is a twin! Max was born with Hydrocephalus from a Grade IV brain bleed in utero. Max's twin Tyler is officially rolling, up on his knees, etc. Obviosly as we know, Max is delayed. It's tough to have twins and see one moving along and the other one not. He received therapy from an OT every other week for 1 hour. When do I up the game and get him more therapy? He was born preterm at 34 weeks so technically he is not 7 months but rather 5 1/2 months. The OT told me not to worry and she will not let me down. But at the same time, I want to do EVERYTHING that I can to help Max along and be the best he can be. Any advise? My personal email is Kbrommer75@comast.net if you would rather post to me there. Thanks!

Hi. Our son is in Early Intervention. Recently, he began pt through a hospital center. We found that, although EI was EXTREMELY helpful, they looked at his attaining developmental milestones and the private PT looks at how he is accomplishing these milestones...with lower muscle tone, the "how" makes such a big difference. Private insurance and medicaid covers his therapies. My opinion...do as much as you can now. Good luck!

Last night I talked with the EIP OT and she will up his sessions. Yes, Max gets to his side but doesn't have the trunk strength to completely roll yet. He tries so hard. I plan to speak with her regarding an PT too. How old is your little one? Would love to share information with you!
