    Hi all,

This is my first post here. Hope to connect with many of you. I am 40, married, two kids and live in Florida. I was shunted around age 4 and my last surgery was right after kindergarten. Today I face a July 27 revision - my first in about 35 years.

I actually see Dr. Williams in Baltimore since I used to live there. Anyone know any neurosurgeons or neurologists in the Tampa area that deal well with adult hydrocephalus?

That's actually really good - being able to go for 35 years without a revision. I sure hope I can go for that long without one!

    Bill--

Wow, 35 years without a revision--that's great! I'm sorry you have to have one now and I wish you the very best with your upcoming surgery. I didn't get my shunt until age 39, but am now 55 and still have the original equipment! Your 35 year record is one I shall shoot for. I'm sorry I can't give you any info about a doctor in the Tampa area. I, too, had to find another doctor about 10 years ago, after moving away from the city where my surgery was done in 1993.

Take care and post again after your surgery to let us know how it went. I wish you well!

    Martha
