I have a 9 year old son who was born with congenital arrested hydro. We were told everything was fine and up until this year all was. He is a great athlete with no motor problems and has done well in school. However this year I started to notice he struggles with learning in comprehension and problem solving. After testing he was found to have a non-verbal learning disability due to the compression of the corpus callosum.
From what I understand his comprehension and problem solving problems will only get worse. Can anyone share some insight to these issues? Has anyone done programs that have helped with these such as Lindamood-bell or like ones? Or even those of you born with hydro did you have difficulty with

I am sorry to hear about your son's situation. As a teacher of students with learning difficulties, and a suffer of hydro myself, it was interesting to read your story. I have a student at my school who also has hydro and who has a non-verbal learning disorder. He is supported by special education and learning difficulties staff at our school so maybe people like this in your son’s school might be able to talk to you about how they can support his needs.

I myself have difficulties with short term memory however have coped extremely well through my life doing two college degrees and becoming a teacher. I've just had to learn and adapt using systems such as using diaries and making checklists for everything. I suggest talking to your child's school or a paediatrician as they can help with strategies to help students with learning difficulties cope.

Sorry I can't be of any more help.
