Hi, I've just been diagnosed with hydrocephalus and need surgery. I was diagnosed just before moving from Baltimore to Ohio, so I only have another week in my apartment (which has already been emptied). I'm waiting to hear from John's Hopkins for an appointment. Does anyone know of charities that might put me and my mother up for the next few days and through the surgery, or of any other assistance available?

Hello, my name is Rachel Buresh. I first want to welcome you to the Hydrocephalus Association support forum. As for your question, without a little more info like your age it is difficult to answer. If you are under the age of 18 the Ronald McDonald house is located in most major cities and does help with housing during surgery, visits and so forth. You would need to contact the House in your area for more info. Goodluck.

Contact the hospital. They often have hotels that work with them to give housing...
