After my surgery where a Programmable shunt was placed I have never gotten the headache to go away. I don't think it helped when we initially programmed my shunt it overdrainned which caused my brain to hemorrhage. My Neurosurgen said everything looks great on my CT scans but my headache is still there. I have been diagnosed with Migrains as well so image when this happenes how painful this can be. Does anyone have any suggestions for some kind of relief?

I am sorry to hear that you are suffering from these headaches and that I don't have any suggestions on what might give you some relief. However, I would continue to seek answers from your neurosurgeon. Sometimes doctors need to be "bugged" alot before they come up with a solution to a problem. It really shouldn't be that way, but unfortunately, sometimes it is. Are you on any meds now for them? If not, I would insist on getting some type of med. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I wish you the best in your quest for answers and pain relief.

There is a condition called slit ventricle syndrome that may explain what is going on with you. Even though your CTs look normal, your pressure may still be off, giving you a chronic headache. I would bug your neuro as well, and/or seek a second opinion if you feel that you aren't getting answers to your satisfaction.
